about

A story from the saga of my experience...

lyrics

Let me take you all down memory lane
Life has been nothing but struggle and pain
The number of times I’ve had to hustle in the rain
Just to find that my pockets are only rustling from change
Change, change, that’s what I thought I needed
Heads down, fun was up, never pleaded or conceded
I was running round town
Wore my shoes down to the sole
It’s cunning how now
To survive I must sell my soul
Working hard is the only thing that’s kept me living
You said to me baby you’re the gift that just keeps on giving
To show you a good time, I don’t need any money,
You said that’s funny, I said honey it won’t always be sunny
Some days I’ll wake up and I won’t wanna say a thing
Used to being on my own that’s how I learned to play these strings
And playing these strings has given me wings
Now everywhere I look opportunity springs
Turning heads now
Everyone wants a piece of the pie
Not just a piece
They want percentages till the day I die
Who am I kidding, they want the music I’ve composed
So they’ll make money after I’m fully decomposed
I guess the number of people like me aren’t many
And I don’t mean to sound cold when you ask to meet
I feel like I’ve lived several lives and I’m only twenty
Being alone taught me to stand on my own two feet
So no matter what happens, I know I’ll still stand
But it means I find it hard to take a helping hand
So I’m sorry and I love you, there’s nothing else above you
Meant I love you and I’m sorry, but I don’t want you to worry about me

I don’t want you to worry about me
I don’t want you to worry about me
Darling I don’t want you to worry about me

Being around youth makes you feel young,
But to tell you the truth, feel like I’ve never been one
I wish I didn’t have to grow up so fast
But childhood was too good to last
I grew up in fear, left it behind, that was a feat
It was only ever bitter not ever bittersweet
Savoury solitude became my favourite talisman
Slavery dresses its attitude up as capitalism
4 jobs, 3 months it’s was too much for me
Just so I wouldn’t have debt after I bought my degree
So I dropped out, may as well have hopped out as the car was moving
Didn’t care anyway I was grooving
Thought I copped out really I just cropped out with the most precision
Everything that wasn’t in my vision
I was scared then, I wasn’t prepared then, all this smoke and mirrors
But now I can say I see things clearer
You make music, can you really use it?
You’re working 9 to 5
I want a home before I’m 95
Said you’re working 9 to 5
I want a home before I’m 95
So no matter what happens I know I’ll stand
But it means I find it hard to take a helping had
So I’m sorry and I love you, there’s nothing else above you
Meant I love you and I’m sorry, but I don’t want you to worry about me

I don’t want you to worry about me
I don’t want you to worry about me
Darling I don’t want you to worry about me
